Both Karla and Vadim have many years of experience dancing and teaching. Karla spent 15 years dancing with the INBA National Institute of Fine Arts company in Mexico, has a Bachelor of Arts in Dance, and a Masters in Choreography and Production. She has experience with many different disciplines of dance, including contemporary, ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, ballroom and latin, with 16 years of teaching experience. Vadim’s specialties lie in ballroom and latin, with 18 years of dance experience and 16 years of teaching experience; he is also a three-time Azerbaijan Republic 10-dance champion. Karla and Vadim both look forward to using their combined experience of over 30 years to continue Mrs. P’s legacy as its new owners and managers.

Sondra started  her studies in the performing arts at the age of 4 at The Frank Hatchett Center for the Performing Arts in her native Springfield, Mass.  She trained for 13 years  in all forms of dance as well as voice and received awards in dedication, choreography and performing student of the year.  Upon graduation from Classical High School,  Sondra pursued her studies at The Boston Conservatory of Music.  She was accepted with a scholarship and in 1989, earned a BFA in  Musical Theatre with a minor in dance and directing.  In her senior year at The Conservatory,  she made her professional debut as Geneva Lee Browne in the Nickerson Theatre’s Production of 1940’s Radio Hour.  To follow shortly after graduation,  Sondra was one of the stars of the Nickerson’s Little Shop of Horrors.

In 1990, Sondra moved to New York City and was reunited with her mentor,  Mr. Frank Hatchett, and shortly after joined his teaching staff at Broadway Dance Center.  She remained part of the Hatchett staff as well as establishing her own teaching style for over 10 years and maintained a reputation for being a well respected  and sought after instructor/choreographer. Some of her students have gone on to work in film, television, music videos and on broadway.

Sondra made her broadway debut in the Broadway hit Ragtime (original cast/album).  And was a featured singer in City Center Encore Series of House of Flowers starring Maurice Hines.  In 2000, she received a nomination for a Barrymore Award (Philadelphia) for playing the title role in Harold Arlen’s St. Louis Woman.  Other regional credits include:  Dreamgirls (stand-by for Jennifer Holliday, where she reprised her role as Effie at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta); Ain’t Misbehavin (Charlayne); Sophisticated Ladies (The Chanteuse); Blackbirds of Broadway (World Premiere) Long Road Home (Female Lead /us); The Who’s Tommy (Acid Queen); Smokey Joe’s Café (BJ/Pattie) ; Ragtime (Sarah’s Friend).

She has been awarded on the competition circuit for best choreography, 1st overall, “musical theatre at its best”, “poetry in motion” and “most entertaining.”

Tracy started her dance and acrobatic training at the age of 5. Mentored to be an assistant at a young age, she started her teaching career at 15 with a heavy emphasis in Acrobatics as well as other forms of dance. As a competitive dancer from a young age, she has been introduced to many styles of dance and worked under a variety of master teachers. Tracy continued her dance training through college at The University of Florida with a minor in dance and was a member of various companies and performance groups: Floridance, Soundstage, Dance Alive, and Danza. After moving back to South Florida, Tracy started teaching full time again and has choreographed many award winning competition pieces and more importantly, helped her students grow and safely develop their strength and skills. Certified by Dance Educators of America and currently in training with Acrobatic Arts, Tracy is continuously looking for new methods and approaches to introduce to her students to keep up with the fast paced cutting edge dance world.

Ashley Bachner

During Ashley Bachner’s professional career, she performed both on Broadway in the Tony Award winner for Best Musical, “Fosse”, as well as the National Tour. She has worked with dance luminaries Gwen Verdon, Anne Reinking, Chris Chadman, Chet Walker, Frank Hatchett, Bob Audy, Henry LeTang, and ballet legend Madame Davarsh. She has also performed as a Rockette at both Radio City Music Hall and the Flamingo Hilton in Las Vegas.

Other credits include “Tommy”, “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”, “Jazz on Jazz”, and “Singing in the Rain”. Her television credits include “The Tonight Show”, “Law and Order”, “The Chappell Show”, the PBS Great Performances taping of “Fosse”, and “Good Day LA”. She can also be seen in the motion pictures “Across the Universe” and Tim Burton’s “Mars Attacks”.


Melissa Goble

Melissa Goble is new to the studio this year. She is returning back to South Florida after living in Kentucky for the past three years working as a ballet teacher at various gyms as well as coaching gymnastics. Melissa started her professional career dancing with Charleston Ballet Theatre in South Carolina. She later danced with Kentucky Ballet Theare before moving to South Florida in 2001 where she began teaching at various studios as well as dancing professionally with a multitude of companies all over the region. Ms. Goble has traveled the world as well as much of the U.S dancing with professional companies such as Cirque Dreams and Poet Productions. And has danced locally with these companies as well as Jubliee Dance Theatre and Advanced Productions and Entertainment. Melissa teaches most all disciplines of dance as well as gymnastics and aerial silks. She is very happy to be returning to South Florida and thrilled to be joining the staff at Mrs. P’s Dance Studios

Nova Lishon-Savarino has been studying Classical Ballet since age 2. Nova studied dance under the direction of Dana Williams for 15 years performing in various shows, events, festivals, theaters, venues, and charities/community service events with the Ballet Elite Dance Studio, Nutcracker with Magda Auñon’s Fort Lauderdale Ballet Classique, various productions with Nova Southeastern University’s Performing Arts Department, and performed as a guest dancer in Falstaff with the Gold Coast Opera. Over the years, Nova studied other types of dance such as Modern, Lyrical, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Choreography, and Improvisation; she has won many awards and scholarships. Nova continues to share her dance experience by teaching children, teens, and adults. She also earned her B.A. in Dance, Minor in Theatre from NSU. Nova has been Figure Skating since age 6 and has competed in local, state, and national competitions including winning several state championships. Nova has won over 100+ medals with the superior coaching from Ilona Melnichenko and Artem Torgashev at Saveology Iceplex, as well as Jennifer Houghton at Sunrise Ice Skating Center. She also earned a doctorate in Instructional Technology & Distance Education and Higher Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Nova has been teaching at Broward College since 2012.

Fiorella has been studying dance for the past fourteen years. Fiorella’s forte is Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop, however she has also studied Ballet and Lyrical.

She has been an assistant teacher for the past five years, which led her to study and become a certified graduate member of Dance Teacher Training Association (DTTA).

Bachelors degree of Science in Education in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Florida Atlantic University.
 Missy has been dancing since the age of 5, with over 18 years at Mrs. P’s.  She also studied ballet at FAU.  Missy’s forte is in Ballet, Tap and Jazz, however she has also studied Modern, Lyrical, and Acrobatics.
Missy has been an assistant teacher for the past three years.  Her love of teaching, in various other activities, and love of dance, led her to study and become a certified graduate member of the Dance Teacher Training Association (DTTA).

Anna was born into the business. Her parents owned and operated Mrs P’s Dance  and Acrobatic Studio of Weston, Fl. Anna has been dancing for more than fifteen years. Her love for dance led her into the Weston Dance Company.

Anna is a third generation acrobat, so it is not surprising that after being trained by her father (Mr. Joey) and grandfather (Mr. P) that she following in their footsteps and specialized in acrobatics.

Anna decided to attend Dance Teacher Training Association (DTTA) where she received and became a certified graduate member.

 


Lindsay Ahmed

Lindsay has been dancing for the past 13 years. During this time she has developed a deep understanding and passion for the styles of dance such as Jazz, Tap, Ballet, and Contemporary.

Ten years ago Lindsay auditioned for and was accepted into the Broadway Dance Company at Mrs. P’s. While she followed her love for the dance she became a competitive dancer and received many honors and high scores at numerous competitions.

The opportunity arose that she performed at Downtown Disney as well as being selected to perform in a production of Grease as ChaCha.

To round out Lindsays performing arts, she was selected to be a member of the worlds largest voice concert at NBPS and was also a member of the Universal State Choir. To complete her education in the performing arts, Lindsay is a certified member and graduate of Dance Teacher Training Association (DTTA).

Jennifer, and her daughter, have been a part of the Mrs P’s family for almost ten years. Jenn may not have a background in dance, but her excellent office skills coupled with her daughter’s love for all things dance have made her a perfect fit here. She has also been an avid supporter of various arts throughout her life, as well as being an accomplished artist and writer herself.

Her 20+ year career as a graphic artist/web designer and her organizational and people skills have prepared her to keep our busy studio running smoothly and ensure that our students and their families have a positive experience from the moment they walk through the doors. She is more than prepared to face all of the challenges that the crazy world of dance throws her way.

Beth started dancing at the age of four. She has studied Ballet, Tap, and Jazz over the last 55 years. She also participated in the Dance Company while at Miami-Dade Community College for two years.

Beth had the privilege of auditioning for the June Taylor Dancers. She was given that opportunity because of her wonderful tap teacher Patty Manzelli, who was a former June Taylor Dancer.

She taught dance for several years, working mostly with younger students, for Marie Allen with Allen Dance Studio, whom she is still very close with.

Beth has danced at Mrs P’s for the last eight years. Her daughter Samantha also danced with Mrs P’s during that time, and was a part of our Broadway Dancers until she graduated. During this time Beth was able to fulfill her dream of dancing with her daughter on stage multiple times. She has been working at Mrs P’s for the last two years as the front desk assistant and loves talking to all of the new parents just starting their dance adventures with their little ones.
